IMPORTANT MESSAGE! The syringe poles and animal control poles that are being sold by Tomahawk Live Trap until June 1st were manufactured by me (Chuck Smith - Northern Industries).  After June 1st Tomahawk Live Trap will no longer carry our products and we cannot not guarantee their quality. Make sure that all purchases of syringe and animal control pole products are completed through this site, after June 1st, to guarantee the high quality that you have come to expect.

Northern Industries is the lowest cost animal control pole and syringe pole provider. We can guarantee the lowest prices because you are buying direct from the designer and manufacturer.  At Northern Industries you get a 100% product satisfaction, or your money back, guarantee.

Northern Industries is owned by one of the former owners and son of the founders of Tomahawk Live Trap and National Live Trap.  My name is Chuck Smith.  I have been in the animal control/care industry my entire life.   Many of you who have been in the animal care industry know me and my family well.

Some of my first childhood memories are of me stuffing catalogs in envelopes for my parents Greg and Mary Smith.  I can remember the old rotary printing press they bought and taught me how to run.  I did whatever I could, small tasks like this for a young child made me feel important and the small amount of money my parents gave me back then made me feel good too.   My parents would let me capture any animal I could to make sure the traps they were designing worked as well.

By the time I turned 12 I worked in the factory making live traps and cages every summer.  I would work on the spot welders, the assembly line, and the quality control lines.  I even found my first love in my parent’s factory, which didn’t hurt me wanting to come to work every day to see her.   I hated the foreman back then she seemed to be harder on me than anyone else, maybe because I was to love struck.  My parents started taking me to various conventions and leaving me in charge of the booth when I was 14.

After I graduated High School I went to college to learn how to program computers but my heart or my checkbook weren’t into going to school for another two years.  So after my sophomore year in college, 1993, I designed the Tomahawk Live Trap Animal Control Poles.  I slowly over time developed these poles and other products that Tomahawk Live Trap sold as their own, at the same time, I also still worked for Tomahawk Live Trap attending many animal care, animal control, pest control, animal damage,… etc… conventions making great new friends and contacts all over the country.

My wife Jacky worked for Tomahawk Live Trap as the office manager for 8 years. If you called Tomahawk Live Trap between 2002 and 2010 you usually talked to her.  Jacky worked many conventions with me over that period.  Many of the people we saw at these shows will remember us bringing our son CJ “Chuck Junior” along.  He is five now and everyone will see him again soon.  I hope he follows in his dads, grandpas and great uncles footsteps and stays in the family business.

My mother sold the business to me and my two siblings in 2007.  I worked with my two siblings over the next few years, my job being, designing new products such as; The Easy Set Thumb Traps, The Professional Series Live Traps, The new style Economy Traps, The completely enclosed Plastic Traps, Multi use traps, etc…  I designed most of every new product we sold over the past ten years, not to mention, when we moved into a new facility I came up with new and easier ways to let anyone, man, woman, or handi-capable men and women use many of the machines, welders and benders they couldn’t use before.  I even worked in the parts room for one of the years I owned the company, working anywhere and everywhere I could to learn more and more about the business, all the while, I continued to oversee the manufacture of the animal control poles also.

I soon came to the conclusion that I wanted to be on my own again.  I sold my part of Tomahawk Live Trap to my brother, Greg Smith III, in November of 2011.  As part of my buyout I am under contract to exclusively make certain products for Tomahawk Live Trap LLC until June of 2013.  The products that I am currently manufacturing are the same high quality Animal Control Poles that you currently buy from Tomahawk Live Trap and have since 1993.

In addition to the Original Animal Control Poles we will also be manufacturing the best syringe poles on the market today.  We carry both Push type and a new Thumb Trigger type, along with a new type of animal control pole, the Economy Animal Control Pole.  The Economy Animal Control pole offers all the great aspects of the Original Animal Control Pole but a lot less expensive.

Starting in June of 2013 I will be manufacturing many of the same products that I have designed over the past; traps, cages, excluders, nets, tongs, graspers, etc… At that time you will be billed, invoiced and your products will get shipped directly by Northern Industries LLC.

Please take a look at our current products and check back often, I know you won’t be disappointed.  We have purchased large CNC Milling and Lathe machines, these machines will allow us to go in many different directions of manufacturing instantly, not to mention better and unique animal control and care products in the near future.  We will also be manufacturing different billet and machined assemblies for automotive, home and industrial applications.  All of our products use materials from the U.S.A. and are manufactured in Tomahawk, WI.

Thank you for looking at my site, I look forward to doing business with a lot of you again and some of you for the first time.
